Gettin' Tired

I'm tired of all this bullshit.  I'm 25 god damn years old.

I'm tired of skating circles around the truth.

I'm very rapidly reaching the point where the limiting factors, e.g. peoples' reactions and the annoyance of having to debug peoples' false conceptions, are outweighed by the simple fact that I'm tired.

I want a cool bro, and I don't want to have to sneak around.

This may change my life, but it will not define my life.

This shit is going down soon. Get ready people.

  1. Aw, I am proud of you homie, and I'm sure I speak for many. That probably doesn't mean too much coming from an anonymous, digital stranger, but I hope it means something. I had to comment and show support when I saw that this momentous decision had received so little love and attention. Think about all the little bromos to come for whom you are making life just a little bit easier. Stay strong my dude.

  2. At 25, you're tired. Ever think about us who have been here twice that long? Lived through sheer terror at the thought of being discovered. Don't think of this as an admonition, though. It is not intended that way. But just think of all of those guys who have lived through all the bullshit throughout humanity, but most specifically through the 'American' experience the last couple of hundred years.

Whatever you do, I hope you never let go of your principles. I think you have great ideas, you clearly see the wrongs, you logically conclude the ridiculousness of many people's perceptions of non-hetero's. You seem not to be afraid to rattle some cages, and destroy some illogical conclusions, to strip off the bullshit and get down to the real facts. You can make a real difference if you decide you want to. I just hope you do.

  3. I've been following your stuff for a while, but this is the first time I've though I'd spend time writing a comment. I just wanted to say good luck to you. There will be fallout, sure, but it won't last long. And when it comes to stereotypes, who cares about what other people think. If they know you, their impression won't be swayed by stereotypes. If they don't, they'll soon find out. Teach them that the stereotypes aren't true.

  4. Hey bud. Quick tip. Also 25 and I found the easiest way to get past all that bullshit. Back in university I told my two best bros and just said 'if you want, feel free to tell the other guys'. Completely by passed all the lame conversations and annoying comments. Couldn't be happier. And now, back to the Stanley Cup final...
